a name for himself when he started out with Steely Dan and then joined the Doobie Brothers in 1977. In the years that followed,
Michael and the Doobie Brothers enjoyed tremendous success. Their sound evolved from guitar-driven rock to a sultry R&B feel,
with McDonald writing and singing some of their most popular songs: "Takin' It to the Streets," "What a Fool Believes" and
"Minute by Minute."
In 2003, Michael paid tribute to the music that inspired him so early on in his career, Motown classics, by producing his
seventh solo album Motown, which went on to earn a Platinum record, as well as two Grammy nominations. He then released Motown 2 in 2004, which was certified Gold within months of its release, debuted on the Billboard Top Ten and is still going strong.
Michael's prolific consistency through more than 25 years of recording and performing was celebrated in 2005 by his release
of Michael McDonald: The Ultimate Collection. With a career that has seen innumerable chart successes, Michael McDonald give a performance that you don't want to miss.
