Spouse/Guest Tours 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. All tour prices are $135 and run concurrently. Please select one tour only.
Tour # 1: Paul Revere's Ride
This guided coach tour follows in the foot prints (or hoof prints) of one of the most famous Revolutionary patriots, Paul
Revere. On this tour, take a fascinating walk through Paul Revere's house and the Old North Church where the two lanterns
were hung to alert the countryside about British movements. Next cross the Charles River to Charlestown (as did Paul Revere)
and have lunch in the Warren Tavern, the lodge for the Masonic chapter Paul was Grand Master of and one of the first buildings
to be re-built in Charlestown after the Battle of Bunker Hill. After lunch the tour continues to Lexington and Concord to
learn about the first action on Lexington Green, the march of the British to Concord and the "shot heard round the World"
at the Old North Bridge on April 19, 1775. This is America's birthplace.
Lunch at Warren Tavern features a choice of soups, sandwiches, burgers, or entrée salad, ice cream sundae, coffee.
Tour # 2: John F. Kennedy and John Adams: Two Presidential Libraries
The John F. Kennedy Library situated on Dorchester Bay in Boston is one of the greatest presidential libraries in the country.
Explore the library exhibits focusing on the period between Kennedy's nomination in 1960 and his assassination in 1963.
Our other destination is the home just south of Boston of our second President, John Adams, and our sixth president, John
Quincy Adams. The house is essentially unchanged and the furnishings reflect the life of four generations. This is the unheralded
gem of Boston touring.
Lunch is at one of Boston's most famous political pubs, Doyle's. It wasn't around in the Adams era, but you can bet your bottom
dollar that every politician in Boston since 1882 (including JFK) has made a point of stopping in here for a pint during campaign
time. What no one has ever explained is how Doyle's continued operating during Prohibition.
Lunch includes a cup of soup, a choice of casual entrees, burgers, sandwiches or small pizzas and for dessert, Boston cream
pie.
Tour # 3: Salem and Witchcraft
Come to Salem with us and discover the tragic events of the Salem Witch Trials, how it all started, who was hanged, who the
accusers were and who the victims were. Get a sense of the hysteria that gave rise to the expression "Witch Hunt" by visiting
the Salem Witch Museum and walk through the Burial Ground where hanging Judge Hawthorne is buried.
Salem was also the home of Nathaniel Hawthorne. Visit the House of the Seven Gables that inspired his famous novel, a classic
Puritan tale of murder, revenge and retribution. The House of the Seven Gables is a wonderful example of how New England architecture
developed during the colonial era.
While in Salem, take a stroll on Derby Wharf to find Friendship, a replica of one of the fabulous Yankee Clipper ships that
made Salem the wealthiest city in America in the post-Revolutionary period. Also visit Chestnut Street, where these prosperous
ship captains built their stately homes. Chestnut Street is considered by many to be the most magnificent residential street
in America.
Lunch is at Victoria Station on the waterfront, which features grilled teriyaki chicken breast, fresh baked haddock, pasta
primavera and grilled 8 oz. top sirloin.
Expo 2007 Reception: Taste of Boston 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Hynes Convention Center, Exhibit Hall AB & CD, Plaza/2nd Level
Experience the "Taste of Boston" at this year's Expo 2007 Reception. Reminisce with your colleagues while sampling some of
Boston's best-known dishes.
