Featuring: Jim Plunkett Oakland Raiders Quarterback (1978-86)
Jim Plunkett was born in San Jose, Calif., where he spent most of his adolescent years caring for his blind parents. During
high school, he focused on athletics and excelled in the classroom, earning a scholarship to Stanford University. After winning
the 1970 Heisman Trophy, Plunkett was the number one draft pick for the New England Patriots, where he was named Rookie of
the Year. In 1978, Jim was acquired by the Oakland Raiders and, in 1980, was named the NFL's "Comeback Player of the Year"
as he and the Oakland Raiders won Super Bowl XV. In 1983, Plunkett again led the Raiders to victory in Super Bowl XVIII.
