San Francisco 49ers Running Back (1983-90)
All-Pro running back Roger Craig was drafted in the second round of the 1983 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers out of the
University of Nebraska. In Super Bowl XIX, Craig became the first player ever to score three touchdowns in a Super Bowl during
the 49ers' victory over the Miami Dolphins. The following season Craig became the first player in NFL history to run and receive
for at least 1,000 yards in the same season and scored a team-high 15 touchdowns. In 1988 Craig was named NFL Offensive Player
of the Year by the Associated Press and went on to assist the 49ers to a victory in Super Bowl XXIII. He followed that up
a year later by helping lead the team to their second consecutive championship in Super Bowl XXIV.
Craig played one season with the Los Angeles Raiders and two with the Minnesota Vikings before he retired after the 1993 season.
