Mortgage fraud against lenders continues to garner national attention, and the fight against mortgage fraud needs to be a national and industry-wide assault on the predators that perpetrate the crimes against the consumer and the industry. Efforts to combat mortgage fraud against lenders have proliferated into a number of initiatives, including state and Federal legislation criminalizing mortgage fraud and increased synergy between law enforcement and lenders.
